IEEE
Our mission as the student branch of IEEE at UC San Diego is to provide engineering students with the resources and extracurricular experiences to help them achieve their true potential as they develop into professional engineers. We strive to connect with our community through hosting technical events, professional development, and community enrichment. We are the 2nd largest student branch in the country with over 532 members. This past year we have held over 50 events, accommodating over 1500 people. These events include our four annual projects, three quarterly projects, a hackathon, technical and professional development events, and community outreach programs. Through these opportunities, we have paved way for students to network, collaborate and learn outside of the classroom.
This lecture will provide an overview of adaptive radar processing from the standpoint of bringing to bear optimally and adaptively, all available degrees of freedom on transmit and receive to address the problem of detection, tracking, and classification from a single as well as a multi-sensor perspective. The idea of closed loop radar processing will be introduced. Pertinent research challenges will be identified and ameliorating solutions will be discussed.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department traces its roots back to the establishment of the Applied Electrophysics department in 1965, under its founding chair Henry Booker. Through a succession of department realignments emerged today’s ECE in 1987, when the then-combined Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department was split into two departments. Since then, ECE has earned a world-class reputation for producing top-notch engineers for industry and academia.
