As President of the ECE Alumni Advisory Board, I'm committed to ensuring that our board serves as a bridge connecting our talented alumni, students and faculty, working together to inspire excellence and innovation. Our mission is about people-supporting our students, championing the department, and creating a strong and vibrant alumni network. We're here to listen, to learn from one another, and to grow together. This community is yours, and we can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together.

The UC San Diego ECE Alumni Advisory Board and ECE Department are AMPED to invite you to participate in the Alumni Mentorship Program (ECE AMP). This is a 5-month long program from January to June, where you get paired up with eager ECE undergraduate and graduate students who are looking for guidance on their personal. academic, and professional goals. Think about a time where you received guidance from others--whether it was how to build a great resume, achieve a healthy work-life balance, communicate effectively, or how to ace an interview--and how much of an impact it had on you. The students that participated in the program last year walked away with skills to help them navigate their future and the knowledge that if they can't tackle a challenge on their own, they can always count on support from their fellow alumni. 

The benefits of being a mentor include:

• Expanding your network.
• Staying involved with the ECE community.
• Personal growth and a sense of fulfillment.
• Improving your communication and leadership skills.

The expected minimum time commitment is about 1-2 hrs a month, and there are both in-person and virtual participation options.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Awards: Subhasis Chaudhuri (PhD 1990), Yvonne Hildebrand (MS 1998), and Joseph Ford (PhD 1992)!

They have all made substantial accomplishments in the fields of Applied Mathematics, Systems, and Applied Physics, respectively. We celebrated their achievements on April 4, 2025 at Franklin Antonio Hall. Do you know an alumni that should be celebrated for their accomplishments? Please nominate them here!
