Abstract

Dr. Chang will be sharing his experiences of his earlier years at UC San Diego and how he became interested in electromagnetic theory. At a national laboratory, he used this background to evaluate the safety of nuclear weapons and contributed to US/USSR verification on restrictions on nuclear tests. These efforts eventually stopped the underground nuclear testing and reduced nuclear stockpiles for the US and USSR. Dr. Chang would like to encourage audiences to broaden their perspective and use their knowledge to make a positive impact on society. An ethical and socially responsible person will be rewarded with happiness and health.
