Abstract
This talk will provide a high-level overview of the various technologies that enable autonomous vehicles. We will first review the technological history of self-driving cars before condensing the common themes into a technology stack that is required to achieve fully autonomous driving. The talk will conclude with some contemporary examples.

Ravi Teja Sukhavasi received the undergraduate degree from IIT Kanpur, India, in 2007 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA, in 2008 and 2012, respectively, all in electrical engineering.
He has been with Qualcomm Research San Diego, CA, USA, since 2012 where he has contributed to technologies ranging from the first Gigabit LTE modem to sensor fusion for self-driving cars.
